This is similar to Halloween, but with a different background. It's celebrated by many generations in some parts of the Netherlands.
Samuel went to pick up his neighbour friend Erik first and then they had to search for houses with candles at the windows (not everybody is celebrating). Every time when a door opened, they had to sing a special Saint Martin song to receive some candy. They were so shy and so cute together. We, their parents (we all came to escort our little fellows) melted all the time.
It was so difficult to take good pictures. At nights like this I wish for a better camera!
