Pippi & Teddy

Teddy moet nog even wachten...waiting..

Deze week was ik druk met knutselen want er moest getrakteerd worden. Dit keer heb ik het me iets makkelijker gemaakt dan met de verjaardag van Samuel, toen ik 240 (het waren er natuurlijk niet ZO veel, maar dat voelde wel zo) mummies maakte van flesjes Minutemaid appelsap. Nu dus 15 Pippi's. Deze Pippi’s waren allemaal stuk voor stuk voorbedrukt. Ik hoefde dus alleen wat uit te knippen, te plakken en te vouwen en Rinse hielp uiteraard ook mee.
Nu Teddy afgelopen woensdag haar tweede verjaardag vierde op haar crèche en ook meteen haar afscheid nam van de babygroep die de "Pippi's" heet, kon ik het niet laten om wat leuke uitdeelspullen te bestellen bij Artoek. Daar hebben ze een afdeling "Pippi Langkous", met verkleedspullen en dus ook deze schattige traktatie-Pippi's. Er zijn er zelfs video's te bekijken hoe je de traktatie in elkaar kunt zetten. In één van de video's maakt de maakster, Martine Bakx, de terechte opmerking: "Het hoeft allemaal niet zo erg netjes, het is maar een traktatie!".



Teddy vond het heel erg leuk om "De Langkousjes" uit te delen, maar ze was het er niet helemaal mee eens dat ze de Pippi-handpop die we voor de groep gekocht hadden, niet zelf mocht houden.
De overgang naar de volgende groep op de crèche ging erg leuk. Teddy werd uitgebreid gekust en geknuffeld door haar juffen en een heel welkomstcomité van de nieuwe groep stond haar op te wachten toen ze daar naar binnengebracht werd door haar oude juf. Ik vond het wel wat en schoot natuurlijk helemaal vol. Teddy niet, die zag mij helemaal niet meer staan en ging meteen druk spelen met haar nieuwste BFF Marthe.

This week I was busy assembling 15 paper Pippi Longstocking dolls. This time I’ve choose something easier than when Samuel had his last anniversary. Then I’ve made 240 (OK there where less, but it felt like that) mummies made from wrapped Minute Maid apple juice bottles.
The Pippi-dolls were all pre-printed. So I just cut and glued them and Rinse obviously helped too.
Last Wednesday Teddy celebrated her second birthday at her nursery and said farewell to her baby group that’s called "Pippi's". I could not resist to order some fun stuff at Artoek. They have a special "Pippi Longstocking" section filled with all this cute Pippi-stuff. There are even videos tutorials about assembeling the packages for your treats. In one of the videos, the owner of Artoek, Martine Bakx, makes this correct observation: "It doesn’t have to be all very nice and precisely, it’s only a treat!".
Teddy was very happy with her treats, but she didn’t quite agree that the Pippi puppet that we’ve bought for the group was not for her to keep.

The transition to the follow-up group at the nursery was very nice. Teddy was kissed and hugged by her caretakers and there was a welcoming committee waiting for her at the next group when she was brought inside by her old teacher. I was very emotional for me to see my little girl go in to the next stage at the kindergarten. Teddy didn’t off course, she forgot all about me instantly and went straight to play with her newest BFF Marthe.

Goodbye and Hello!

Today was Teddy's 2nd birthday! And how she enjoyed that. She is so aware of everything now! It was a real girly B-day, with all her (great) grandmothers and family around her. She received mainly pink coloured toys and a new baby doll that she mothered all day long. So cute, and so different from me. I didn't care for dolls at all; I was a LEGO girl. After the Summer vacation, when everybody will be back from their vacation, we will have a big party with friends for her.
I can't believe that it's already two years ago that my little girl was born. She's growing and developing very fast at this moment, I'm trying to absorb it as much as I can.

Vandaag vierde Teddy haar tweede verjaardag! Ze genoot met volle teugen. Ze is zich zo bewust van alles tegenwoordig. Het was echt een meisjes-verjaardag met al haar (over) grootmoeders en andere familie om haar heen. Ze kreeg vooral roze-cadeautjes en een nieuwe babypop waar ze de hele dag over moederde. Zo schattig, maar heel anders dan ik vroeger was. ik had niets met poppen: ik was een LEGO-meisje. Na de zomervakantie z., als iedereen weer terug is, zullen we nog een echt feestje organiseren voor haar met vrienden en kinderen.
Ik kan het nauwelijks geloven dat het alweer twee jaar geleden is, dat ze werd geboren. Ze groeit zo snel nu en haar ontwikkeling is haast niet bij te houden. Ik probeer het allemaal zo goed mogelijk in me op te nemen.

Handwritten & The day after

Look what I've found in the mail yesterday from my pennpall Sally! She is participating in the pennpallproject, but she's doing her own project to. She is sending and receiving mail in the most wonderful envelopes from people in the entire world. Visit her website and admire all the art that's send to her. And if you might think that she's writing superficial letters, because she's got so many people to write: wrong. I received the most personal and warm letter form her yesterday. What a great Birthday present!
I've received so many presents yesterday: inline skates, a book from Charles Lewinski, a digital photoframe (wow, wow, wow) bed and body mist.
During my little party I've had the possibility to pitch my businessplan with some of my girlfriends and as I already expected they were absolutely enthusiastic about my plans (I can't wait till I can write about that here).

2010 vacation: Corfu

We just came back from our vacation to Corfu. We had so much fun (Teddy had her 1st B-day there with a real sweet cake).
Corfu is great! Here are some pictures from our point & shoot camera. We've had problems with our memory card and spend a lot of time recovering the pictures today. I'll be blogging more about the past two weeks soon, but now I'm going back to the washing machine....
