Pippi & Teddy

Teddy moet nog even wachten...waiting..
(scroll down for English)

This week I was busy assembling 15 paper Pippi Longstocking dolls. This time I’ve choose something easier than when Samuel had his last anniversary. Then I’ve made 240 (OK there where less, but it felt like that) mummies made from wrapped Minute Maid apple juice bottles.
The Pippi-dolls were all pre-printed. So I just cut and glued them and Rinse obviously helped too.
Last Wednesday Teddy celebrated her second birthday at her nursery and said farewell to her baby group that’s called "Pippi's". I could not resist to order some fun stuff at Artoek. They have a special "Pippi Longstocking" section filled with all this cute Pippi-stuff. There are even videos tutorials about assembeling the packages for your treats. In one of the videos, the owner of Artoek, Martine Bakx, makes this correct observation: "It doesn’t have to be all very nice and precisely, it’s only a treat!".
Teddy was very happy with her treats, but she didn’t quite agree that the Pippi puppet that we’ve bought for the group was not for her to keep.

The transition to the follow-up group at the nursery was very nice. Teddy was kissed and hugged by her caretakers and there was a welcoming committee waiting for her at the next group when she was brought inside by her old teacher. I was very emotional for me to see my little girl go in to the next stage at the kindergarten. Teddy didn’t off course, she forgot all about me instantly and went straight to play with her newest BFF Marthe.

Next week guest blogger Nadine, from Johnny and Anita, will share a great back-to-school DIY tutorial!

The drinks for the kids.

Goodbye and Hello!

Today she's 2

(scroll naar beneden voor Nederlands)
Today was Teddy's 2nd birthday! And how she enjoyed that. She is so aware of everything now! It was a real girly B-day, with all her (great) grandmothers and family around her. She received mainly pink coloured toys and a new baby doll that she mothered all day long. So cute, and so different from me. I didn't care for dolls at all; I was a LEGO girl. After the Summer vacation, when everybody will be back from their vacation, we will have a big party with friends for her.
I can't believe that it's already two years ago that my little girl was born. She's growing and developing very fast at this moment, I'm trying to absorb it as much as I can.

Vandaag vierde Teddy haar tweede verjaardag!

What she wears

(scroll down for English)

I have a new little project, I try to photograph my children as often as possible in front of the door in the living room. With these snapshot's I try to capture how they grow and it would be fun to see in a few years time how fashion was now.
As if this would be a real fashion, I will tell you now what Teddy had on this morning. With emphasis on this morning because this afternoon was too hot for this outfit.
Shoes: Digger Socks: Hema Pants: NameIt (gift from friends) shirt WeKids by KappAhl (gift from my family in Poland) Jacket: ZARA (got it from friends / second hand)

New Stamps

(Pelase, scroll down for English)

I miss blogging. I really haven't got the time. Here a very short blogpost to make it less quiet here.
These great stamps came in the mail last Saturday. They are created and made by Joscha. I immediately got a few thank you cards stamped to send to my customers for their order.
Teddy was playing a lot outdoors of this week. She really enjoys playing outside. I enjoy her when she's surprised of something that is new to her ans I enjoy her sense of humor.
I have hardly seen Samuel this week, he is daily for hours on the road with one of his friends from school.

This weekend

(Scroll down for English)

This weekend was packed with many different activities.
Saturday was very special to Teddy. She was to discover a new world: the hairdresser. It was fun and exciting to her. Hairdresser Saskia from 'Your Style' in Hilversum made her feel very at ease.
To document this special event for Teddy, I was inspired by a checklist that I found on the weblog of Willette.

Sunday afternoon I went to Amersfoort to join a group of photographers. I was invited by Althea, one of my first customers in the Pilger Bags webstore. It was nice to see one of my bags actually used by somebody. With this group of photographers we were challenged to take pictures with the theme "reflection ". It was very much inspiring to walk together with a group of people in a city looking for the best shot.
I hope to post some more pictures of both events later this week on my flickr account.

This Christmas

I hope that you've all had a wonderful Christmas. I can't believe that it's over already!
Christmas
2010 was not filled with joy for our little Teddy; who was feeling very ill. She's got a very high fewer right now. Dispite of this, we've had a good Christmas weekend. This afternoon I've had a lot of fun putting together a wonderful Lego gasoline-truck together with Samuel. And we've all have had a lot of fun playing with the new box filled with KAPLA ( .... I think that secretly Rinse would like to receive his own box of Kapla for his birthday in February ;).
Off I go for now; I have to write e-mails to congratulate the winners of the contest that CorinneDelis and I have had on her blog.

What they wear

First things first. Go to one of my most favorite blogs: Bloesem
There is a very interesting guest post there today written by me (!). That's cool, isn't it?!

Samuel is 6,5 years and knows what he wants. I don't have as much influence on his style as I would like, but I think that he chooses the right combinations.
Here he wears a second hand shirt from Eager Beaver (I always receive many clothes for S from a colleague) and his favorite jeans from NOtomatoes.
And then our little girl. She grows so fast. My friend Marcia bought this Calvin Klein tracksuit in the U.S. and I love her Amplified Beatles t-shirt, I should get it in a bigger size for her.

Lost and found

Hey, are you still there? I'm working hard on developing a new blog. Preparing new posts and looking for a new format for my content to spice this all up. But in the mean time there is not much going on here, I know. I was very surprised to see the statistics, people are still visiting this place! I've started a new business and I can't wait to tell you all about it, but I have to be patient.

So now it's time to give a sign of life, don't you think? Last month I've lost a memory card, well I knew it was somewhere in the house. Now I've found it. It's very nice to see some pictures from this summer (this was a Sunday morning in July), it seems such a long time ago.

Flowers

This makes me happy: I've got 5 vases filled like this one now in our house.
Today I'm a SAHM, Teddy was sick yesterday with fewer, but she did well and was very happy after trowing up. I thought she would be OK today. But when I took her out of her bed this morning she was almost steaming. Poor thing. She sleeps most of the morning now and I've canceled some meetings at work. Days like this are strange, I was already focused on what I was supposed to do at work and than (as if somebody suddenly stops a record that's playing, you know that scratching sound) I have to let go of everything.

How fast they are growing

Look how fast they are growing! Teddy is 13 months (today), starts holding furniture and will be walking by herself soon. Samuel is 6 years and is reading and talking about world news (like the Pakistan flood disaster) in school. I have to get used to all those new thing from both of them and I'm doing my very best to absorb how they are right now.

This came in today, in a beautifull box and a lovely note from the seller.

2010 vacation: Corfu

We just came back from our vacation to Corfu. We had so much fun (Teddy had her 1st B-day there with a real sweet cake).
Corfu is great! Here are some pictures from our point & shoot camera. We've had problems with our memory card and spend a lot of time recovering the pictures today. I'll be blogging more about the past two weeks soon, but now I'm going back to the washing machine....

20 July 2010

pssst...I have a secret

Shhh, come closer so she can't hear: I've bought this for Teddy. In 9 days she's going to celebrate her 1st Birthday!!

Etsy, I love Etsy

Rinse works for a morning radio show and has to be in the studio very early in the morning. I've found this shirt for him here. The fabric is very nice, soft and cool! This is great, since we've got tropical temperatures.

So the shirts (I've got myself a sweet doodled shirt) came in yesterday. Today this beautiful strap found it's way to our home. I'm so happy about the quality of the sewing and fabric.

I'm always happy with the products that I've found on Etsy. They are unique and made with a lot of love and care. Sometimes it takes ages to get here. But most of the times I've received what I've ordered super fast. The shirt and the straps are made by crafty people in the US, but I've already shopped in Lithuania and Canada.
What are your favourite finds on Etsy?
Its past midnight here in NL. I'm going to clean the kitchen...now it's cool enough to survive that!

The feeling of summer

Today we felt: summer!
Wat I also like about summer are the different sounds. Like now I hear a heavy train passing our city. I would not notice something like that during winter (when all the windows are closed).

Life is sweet

She's growing so fast!

1 February 2010

Hello February

There is a lot of snow here in The Netherlands. I love this weather, but not when I'm going to work. It very was hard to keep my bike straight today. I also witnessed two cars crash (very slow) into each other because it was so slippery.

Teddy is 6 months now. This last week she was very interested in food. She tried to eat everything: clothes, paper, camera strap. I called here little goat sometimes.
A few days ago we've started giving her some cereals (added to breast milk) and today she's had her carrot! It's so much fun to watch her. It's a big step for her.

Baby pictures

I'm so luck to have a friend that is such a talented photographer. Marianne Hope visited me the other day and she took some pictures of Teddy and me.
I love them so much, she also captured my happiness so well.
You can find more pictures here.
